Child Benefit


Child Benefit is a tax-free monthly payment to anyone bringing up a child or young person. It is not affected by income or savings so most people who are bringing up a child or young person qualify for it. Additional qualifying conditions apply once a child reaches 16 years of age. Tax Credit

Tax credits are payments from the government to help people living in the UK with everyday costs.If you're responsible for at least one child or young person who usually lives with you, you may be eligible for Child Tax Credit.If you work, but earn low wages, you may be eligible for Working Tax Credit. You do not need to have children to be eligible to claim Working Tax Credit.If you are married, in a civil partnership or living together you must claim as a couple.For further information look at HM Revenue & Customs website www.hmrc.gov.uk
